PUSH UP DAYS 1133-1161

1375 Push ups

  • 2 days I did 200 push ups via sets of 25 reps
  • 1 day I did 125 push ups via sets of 25 reps
  • 1 day I did 275 push ups via sets of 25 reps
  • All other days were streak extenders...well, except 2, I did an extra set of 25 reps each of those days.  

Cumulative total:   132,187

Overall a pretty weak April, no real excuse for it, just didn't feel up to doing normal volume -- mental fatigue I think.  I mentioned this to Becca who then recapped our lives from that month and, well, I guess it makes sense as we did do an absurd amount of stuff.   Moderation is definitely the best policy, but then, so is flossing -- I practice both very infrequently.   Anyway, we'll see where it goes from here, stats show I have lost almost 100% of my readership...full circle :).  

As for bench pressing....Last 4 weeks have gone as follows:

PUSH UP DAYS 1105-1124

2495 Push ups
  • Six straight Streak Extender Days
  • 420 push ups via 12 sets of 35 reps each (tough day as I also did legs hard all under 1 hour)

  • 1125 Push ups in sets of 25 reps (New single day record for me)

  • 250 push ups:   50 in Mobile Airport, 100 in ATL Hartsfield and 100 in San Antonio Airport

  • 300 push ups:   175 in San Antonio Airport, 100 in DFW and 25 in MOB.  [Note:  Unless otherwise specified sets completed in airports are 25 reps as that is generally the volume I can complete without sweating]

As for bench pressing, I went up to 160 and had a good first week completing sets of 10, 8 and 7 reps -- next week was a drop off to 9, 7, 6 and yesterday was 10, 8, 6 reps, which I was happy with considering previous days airport push up total.

1095 days = 3 years since this push up streak started.   The Total # of push-ups averages to 115/day, which is perhaps a bit more than I originally expected.  That stated, I have done far fewer max effort days that I originally expected and probably as a result have not yet done 100 good push ups in a row...I should try that again soon though, I guess.   Oh, and max effort bench press on Monday resulted in sets of 10, 10 and 9 for same weight (155 lb.) as last week...so, one more rep in final set.
