Day 352
Friday, September 21, 2012
Day 351
- 1.82 miles
- Slow
- 0600
- From/To Home
- Pushing Case on a wild and bumpy ride -- I thought I was going to get a break today since Case initially stated he didn't want a rough ride because he was playing with his toys, but that lasted about 2 tenths of a mile, then we had to do some serious off road traveling to satisfy him. You wouldn't think from initial look at Case's 'hood that it had any off road possibilities, but when you decide that entertaining your son is more important than the neighbors landscaping, opportunities abound.

Day 342
- 1.82 miles
- Slow
- 0645
- From/To Home
- Difficult, but enjoyed, trip around the 'hood with Finn and Case -- Case gets me to go off road as often as possible, for his entertainment, which makes the effort significantly harder, but more fun too. Thankfully the Burley stroller can handle it pretty well...but yeah, I wish I had a "Bob."

Day 247
- 3.09 miles
- 8:24/mile pace
- 0610
- From/To home
- Intending to do a very short and slow streak extender only, today's run turned out to be the most difficult and enjoyable short slow run of the year. Here's the story:
- While hearing from Case the list of games we were going to play after I finished running I sat down to put on my shoes. I clarified that a few were not going to be possible because I had to go to work today, which he understood and had no problem with...it was basically his wish list [Fight with noodles, football, Power Rangers, etc.]. When reciting he regularly tries to convince me that we should start immediately, which leads to me reiterating that we will play after I run, or eat, or whatever I've already told him was on the plan...he knows this and doesn't mind, but still tries to manipulate the schedule to suit his fancy whenever he can. Well, this time he came up with a great idea all on his own..."Daddy, can I go in the lell-ow thing with you?" The "lell-ow" thing being the yellow Burley running stroller thing meant that for the first time in months and possibly the first time without it first being suggested by Becca or I, he requested to go on a run with me. This was cool, even though it meant my run would be a little tougher...dude's getting heavy. But then it got cooler...he got excited when I said "sure" and added "and Baby Brother too!," which meant that I'd be able to take them both with me and give Becca a 20 minute break or so, which may not sound like much, unless you have 2 kids. Becca's response, "break out the margaritas!" Then she reconsidered and said, "maybe I should just run with you?" (Many of her best decisions are derailed by her hyper-guilt disorder, as diagnosed by the writer) So she asked Case....who said "....No...maybe not," which of course made me chuckle. Becca clarified that he would still get to ride with Finn and she would just run "next to you," which got him excited again and he agreed. So off we all went and I pushed (literally) a little harder than I otherwise would have and went probably a mile further than I would have and had much more fun that I would have. A great way to start the morning for sure.
- Case ended up taking a salt bath with me afterwards instead of playing fighting games, but he didn't mind as he likes taking a bath too, as long as he doesn't have to wash his hair.
- His bath ended rather unfortunately however, as I left to go shower in the other bathroom he stayed to play in the tub....a while later he comes into the other bathroom spitting and making a scrunched up face. He said something about maybe needing to take some medicine, which prompted a few questions. As it turns out, he revealed that he was pointing his weener up while he tee tee'd in the bathtub and "it went right into my mouth." Becca had a tough time containing her laugher, but while I did too, I quickly offered help with a little home remedy of adult tooth paste on his tongue followed by repeated rinsing. He was happy after that, as was the rest of the family :).

Day 164
- 2.29 miles
- Slow
- 1115
- From/To Utopia park the home
- Satisfied the 2k minimum streak extender running 1.46 to the park, then played for an hourish, then home from there. I've stated before that the wind is an issue when pushing the boys in the Burley stroller...this fact was especially evident today as it was/is a windy day. Odd note for today, all three Wein boys changed cloths multiple times, but always managed to wear something green in honor of the Americanised St. Patrick's day traditions...for my run I wore a shirt that I've owned for over 20 years, perhaps I should blog about shirt streaks I have, what would you think about that Laura? :)

Day 157
- 2.78 miles
- Medium
- 1430
- From/to home
- Pushed boys in Burley stroller to the park, 1.2 miles from home and then after an hour+ of park time we returned home a longer way, though not long...thankfully first segment was long enough to satisfy my 2k everyday goal as Case insisted upon stopping to pick up pinecombs on the return home leg. Anyway, glad to get it in, even though I had the greatest plan to accomplish later if needed (JEC, aka CMB). Little dudes are getting heavy.

Day 130
- 2.11 miles
- Slow
- 0915
- From/To Home
- Painful effort, have body aches, not sure how much of that is a result of yesterday's run or if I have a virus of some sort. Pushed Case in Burley to the park, played for a couple hours and then ran home -- Case able to do the retarded slide all by himself for the first time, was pretty cool (the slide has no rails and makes 2 turns? Strange). Concerned about tomorrow though I have no intention to run more than a few miles, just seem to live in fear of sinus issues having experienced them for the first time 100+ days ago. Deal with that tomorrow.

Day 94
- 2.2 miles
- 9 minutes miles
- 1210
- From/To Home
- Pushed Case in Burley, didn't feel real good as I woke up with sinus headache...first mile was about 9:07, which shocked me, but I guess pushing Case adds some time (Case seemed to enjoy it as he was playing with Hot Wheels cars and jabbering most of the time, which was fun). The Streak goes on.

Day 45
Saturday November 19, 2011
- 2 miles
- Slow
- 1700
- From/To Home
- Pushed Case in the Burley, had a good time, didn't run hard, sinus issues seem to be returning.

Day 44
- 1.7 miles
- Slow
- 0800
- From/To Home
- Pushed Case in the Burley, he took a bungee cord with him so he could hook cars and so forth as we went by, he came close, but the best thing he could truly hook was a bush that I let him snag...I think he had fun, I did. Getting up and going after a 1pm bedtime makes The Streak respectable.

Day 26
October 31, 2011
- 4 miles
- Slow
- From to home
- Pushed Case around neighborhoods to seek Halloween decorations, had a lot of fun
Monday, October 24, 2011
Day 19
- 1.7 miles
- Slow
- 7:15am
- From/To Home
- Pushed Case in the Burley bike trailer. Huge difference from the Maclaren, negligible difference from running with no stroller, which is nice. Still have this stupid sinus thing, Motrine seems to help it, but I can't take that every day, want to wake up feeling good to see how that will affect my running. Today was not difficult though, nothing hurt except my sinuses. (Did feed Finn from 0130-0310...have to see how that affects me rest of the week)
