- 7.05 miles
- 7:48/mile pace
- 0531
- Novato, CA
- Ran through the Marin College campus, saw a deer, saw a rabbit the size of a deer, saw swim team practice, enjoyed the hills, determined that the campus is too dark for people to feel safe running before sun up, though I didn't feel threatened at all, decided I like Novato.
- Wondering which day I failed to log...I mean, if tomorrow, Oct. 5, is the 365th day of this streak, and because this year had an extra day in February a full year (Oct. 6 to Oct. 6) should be 366 days, didn't I miss a day logging a run? I am concerned about this, but not too much because I know I didn't miss any days running....unless I slept through a whole day, does anyone remember me doing that? Perhaps I got jacked upon on number of days when traveling across the date line?

Day 364
Thursday, July 26, 2012
Day 295
- 6.86 miles
- 7:39/mile pace
- 0603
- San Bruno, CA
- 11 minute warm up, 7 x two minute surges with 1 minute recovery between them, 20 minute cool down. Ended up doing this on some hilly roads for safety reasons and because there was a golf course at the top of the hill that I wanted to see.
- http://news.runnersworld.com/2012/07/24/top-u-s-streaker-hits-44-years/ I wonder if this guy started to get nervous as his streak approached 300 days thinking of how tragic it could be if the streak were to end so close to 1 year, but not quite there...

Day 193
- 11.11 miles
- 9:04/minutes per mile
- 1505
- Thunderbird Park
- Legs are tired as a result of this run, they don't hurt anything like they did after the LMI, but I'm hoping that's at least partly due to the fact that I am now more used to running off road hilly terrain, but hard to ever be sure about such things. I do consider this a good effort though as I made a point of minimizing flat running through the complete run -- starting in the 67th Ave. parking lot I ran up the road side and over to the north mountain within Thunderbird Park, over that, back over it then to the car for hydration, around the south mountain within Thunderbird Park, culminating in a few short steep hills to make sure I was completely worn out. Still don't feel like the hills were/are as steep as the Trail 100, but again, hopefully they're at least preparing me a bit more for my next try at that devastating route.

Day 190
- 8.29 miles
- 8:06/mile pace
- 0531
- From/to home inclusive of one Thunderbird Park lap
- Wasn't as tired this morning, though my legs weren't spinning with any speed, so to speak. Felt OK I guess, though had to stop for a bathroom break, which I never like to have to do. Anyway, glad I got in a little hill running and think the overall mileage for a work-week day is pretty good, but still not an impressive effort, so perhaps I am just fatigued? I did think about the fact that if I feel like I felt this morning...just slow and tired...I would probably fail in my effort to complete the 2012 LMI course in under an hour three weeks and 2-3 days from now as is my hope, but I guess I won't worry about that right now, just have to keep training. I feel fine, the streak goes on.

Day 186
- 10.51 miles
- 8:42/mile pace
- 0905
- Thunderbird Park
- Pretty hard overall effort, though not much serious hard running during, if that makes sense. 3.5 lower hills loops and one summit, lots of people out on this Easter Sunday. Definitely past halfway to one year now :).

Day 179
- 10.08 miles
- 8:28/mile pace
- 0725
- From/To Home
- Woke up this morning without potential cold symptoms, so had no excuse not to run some hills...so off to Thunderbird Park I went. Ran pretty hard, though not fast and struggled more than expected on first summit effort, but hopefully that will improve as I do it more often. These hills are quite tame in comparison to last Sunday's run, but hopefully they'll prepare me a bit more for the next time I try last Sunday's route (Dreamy Draw to North Mountain summit). Trails were well populated this morning during my run, which can be attributed the excellent, though windy, weather and the fact that I was too lazy to get started before 6am as I should have. Much room for improvement, as always.

Day 123
- 12.32 miles
- 8:08/mi pace
- 0655
- From/To home
- Ran from home to T-bird Park, 3 loops and then returned home -- ran much harder than I anticipated, but really enjoyed it. I woke up with sore throat symptoms, which worried me and still does, hopefully it will pass quickly or turn out to be nothing at all. Considering the first 3 miles were slow, I ran very well thereafter...had earphones on and that may have helped, also took down 1 GU, which seems to always help as well. Need to run more hills, definitely believe in the "speedwork in disguise" mantra associated with hill running.

Day 108
- 13 miles
- 8:37/mile
- 0715
- From/To Home
- Got a sitter (Lauren) so Bec and I could run together, didn't feel very good/strong/spry, but managed to get the mileage in, inclusive of 1 mile of hills (over 59th, then in Thunderbird Park off road). Think maybe overall mileage caught up to me a bit as this shouldn't have been as hard as it was, but done now, streak goes on. (Also have been running in super-old shoes, so retired those after this run and bought some new Brooks today, first run with them should be tomorrow)

Day 72
- 4.03 miles
- 8:37/mile pace
- 1130
- From/to my parents house -- flat route
- Ran with Becca for the first time in a while, we decided my folks should move to a flatter neighborhood, even though we went the flat route.
