Day 259

  • 5.33 miles
    • 7:42/mile pace
    • 0550
    • From/To home
  • Slow first mile (8:18) then picked up a bit for a cruise to the finish.
  • Case has pink eye.   Proving once again that if you have kids you should never allow them to interact with any other children or go where any other children may have been.  Ever.

  1. We played the pink eye game, both kids, in February. What a mess.

    1. Indeed, I think it is something we, as a society, should be able to completely eradicate and I would gladly wear a rubber arm band if it would help funnel money to the cause.

  2. Eat Dirt for Good Health

I disagree. Like it or not, you and your kids are complex multicellular organisms that have an immune system. Your immune system gets used whether it's against outside invaders or your own body's cells. This is the reasoning underlying the theory that autoimmune diseases are partially caused by excessive cleanliness.

So give thanks to the microbe gods that gave your son pink eye. Hopefully those microbes will clog up his body just a little more and prevent the really nasty stuff from happening to him.

    1. Hmmmm....good point CMB and I will be thankful that Case will benefit from this latest battle, but I guess I wasn't as clear as I should have been -- I was thinking selfishly in that I didn't want him to catch the stuff he'll catch and then give it to me :). I've already eatten plenty of dirt in my life. Maybe he could just get his own place, is it too soon for that? He's over 1600 days old...
